POWERED PALLET TRUCK (A1)(A2)(A3)(A4)(A5)(A6)(A7)

All training takes place at your premises.

(A1) The powered pallet truck (pedestrian) often shortened to PPT (pedestrian)  is an electric low-level lifting and moving forklift. They suit all types of light-duty applications, such as horizontal transport, loading/unloading and order picking. As the name suggests the operator walks with the machine, either in front or behind.

(A2) The rider powered pallet truck often known as PPT (rider) is an electric low lift platform and low lift order-picking truck

PPT’s function is to move palletised stock at low-level from A to B. Whether that is loading and unloading lorries or just distributing pallets around the warehouse. They are very manoeuvrable and able to carry loads over a long distance.

The operator stands on a small platform at the back and controls the speed and direction from a tiler

(A5) The powered pallet pallet stackertruck (pedestrian) is a fully electrically operated hand forklift, used to transport pallets within warehouses. They operate in more confined areas than standard electric ‘ride-on’ forklifts but still offer the ability to store pallets within racking and high-level storage areas

Each course involves three stages of testing:

  • A theory test – consisting of 25 questions
  • Pre-use inspection test
  • Practical skills test involving various manoeuvres completed in a safe manner

Firstly, and most importantly we need the use of your powered pallet truck. Also, an area where we will not be disturbed, with ample space to carry out basic manoeuvres and testing. Pallets and realistic loads appropriate to your business are useful. For the theory lessons, we need sufficient space for the instructor and the trainees to work. A small office with a table, chairs and power will suffice.

All forklift operators are required to wear hi-visibility vests, safety boots and any other personal protective equipment as per the company’s internal risk assessments
